Lisa Beardsley from Scantrope suspected that she had a stroke when the muscles of her face "froze". The woman called an ambulance, she was taken to the hospital, where she lost the ability to even talk, eat, drink and smile for four hours. Doctors found out that it wasn't a stroke at all, but shingles, which was a consequence of chickenpox. The dangerous virus had been sleeping in her body for a long time and then suddenly woke up.
For several months, Bradley had to stick to a liquid diet and eat only through a straw, besides, she could not blink. Gradually, the muscles of her face recovered, but not completely.
