This touching moment caught the lens of a photographer present in the operating room. The picture called "The Hand of Hope" became famous all over the world.
The operation to eliminate the defect was successful. Samuel Alexander Armas was born on December 2, 1999. Such a boy was in 2012.
Today he is already 16 years old.
