Starfish Beach - Boca del Drago

Categories: Nature | Water

One of the most beautiful places in Panama for diving, snorkeling and surfing is the Bocas del Toro archipelago. This is practically one of the most famous resorts in Panama. The archipelago was discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1502. The best places to stay are on the Colon Islands in the area of Bocas del Drago beach (Boca Del Drago), whose name translates as "Dragon's Mouth". Drago is about 20 miles from Bokas, although a bus that takes you there for just $2 takes 1 hour and 15 minutes the whole way. The beach itself is quite small, but the calm and clear ocean here will give you a great opportunity to admire the starfish that live in abundance in the coastal waters of Boca del Drago.
