The beauty and the beast met again - this time in the role of the beauty - a rainbow, and in the role of the monster - a thunderstorm of the savannas and the king of animals, the lion. A large lion had just finished his meal in the form of a buffalo carcass when an amazing double rainbow appeared in the sky above him. This beauty was captured by photographer Thomas Retterat in the Ngorongoro Game Reserve in Ndutu, Tanzania.

1. “It was raining and our guide heard a lion roar nearby,” says the photographer.

3. "This large male lion was lying satiated away from the others, and I thought it would be a good idea to take some pictures."
