Those of us who grew up in the Soviet era almost universally dreamed of becoming an astronaut. With age came the realization that there were not enough spacesuits for everyone and someone needed to stand at the machine, dig with a shovel and doze in offices. Roscosmos welcomes with open arms professionals in such fields as computer science, electronics, communications, instrumentation, power engineering, mechanical engineering, physical and mathematical sciences, aviation and space technology, mathematics, biology and chemistry. It is strange that graduates of theological seminaries are not required, by the way.

Also, applicants for cosmonaut vacancies must cope with sports standards with honor. You need to run a kilometer in 3 minutes and 30 seconds, meet the 10 by 10 meters shuttle run in 26.3 seconds, swim 800 m freestyle in less than 20 minutes 10 seconds or breaststroke 22 minutes 30 seconds. In addition, the future conqueror of space must pull up on the horizontal bar at least 12 times.

Only in this way can applicants be admitted to an interview, according to the results of which the experts of the national cosmonautics will select several of the most worthy.
