Raku Inoue is a Montreal-based in-house designer and art freelance designer who creates insects from flowers. Let's listen to his amazing story.

Flower insects

1. Looking at these insects, I want to buy flower seeds, plant them and start creating. But it was not always so. This is what Inoue has to say.

2. Raku Inoue grew up in Montreal but was born in Japan. According to the designer, two countries influenced his work.

3. One taught me to be subtle, calm, willful, and humble. Another taught me to be brave, loud, free-thinking, and proud. I found myself in conflict with both my creations and my lifestyle, but over time I managed to find harmony.

4. For many years I felt dissatisfied and unconnected with the result of these experiments.

5. Recalling this now, I think I was confused and frustrated in part because of my desire to please everyone (friends, clients, agents, etc.) with my actions and my creations. I was very fixated on what I should do.

6. There was a time in my teens when I wouldn't even think about art or creating works.

7. Low self-esteem was a consequence of a lack of confidence.

8. But then I decided to devote myself to art. Probably, there is something that called me ... I'm not sure what it was ... maybe just intuition ... And I started by challenging myself, experimenting with different styles of creativity.

9. Slowly but surely, I was able to mold myself into the person I am today. Just trying new things and not worrying too much about the results and achievements. By doing this, I felt free. I felt completely confident. Now I see that at that time I was a bird stuck in an open cage. All I needed was to look up and see the opportunities that were opening up. I am currently creating these flower arrangements to show to the viewer. This is no longer the fear of deviating from the standards. But even now, I don't forget how I came to this, and I try my best to expand my creativity.
