An American extreme woman lived in a car for a whole year, traveling around the country and making incredible landscapes

American Kat Carney from Kansas, a talented self-taught photographer, retoucher and adventurer, shoots stunning landscapes. The girl travels a lot and managed to take a lot of wonderful photos in a variety of locations: from the mountainous tundra of Alaska to the Mediterranean coast of Spain. Now her Instagram account katcarney has more than 28 thousand subscribers, but the army of fans of the creativity of the active American continues to grow.

For more than a year, Cat Carney has been traveling around North America, living in a car, traveling from state to state in search of adventures and beautiful shots.

Kat once worked as a journalist and played volleyball professionally in Spain, but in 2012 she began a career as a professional photographer. At the same time, she was always attracted by adventure and extreme.

In 2016, Kat Carney went on a trip in her 2002 Chevy Suburban SUV. The trip across America stretched for more than a year: at first, the girl was accompanied by her fiance Craig, an athlete with whom they met and lived together in San Diego. But during the long journey, he found a job on the East Coast, and then Kat continued her journey alone.

After spending a whole year on wheels, living in a car and moving to new places every week, the photographer girl found many like-minded people, and more and more people began to follow her trip on Instagram.

Of course, it is not always comfortable to live in a car all the time: the girl often froze and sometimes got sick. But, according to Kat, difficulties harden.

Mountaineering and surfing, extreme mountain biking and rafting on stormy rivers, overnight stays under an incredible starry sky and hiking through the picturesque American expanses — this lifestyle seems optimal for Kat.

At the same time, she combines this lifestyle with the work of a professional photographer: she shoots for British Airways, Hyundai, Thermarest, Outdoor Research and other well-known companies.

The traveler has two cameras: Canon 5d Mark II and Canon 6d. She usually carries a 6d with her because it's lighter and smaller. She also always has two lenses with her: for landscapes, she uses 16-35mm, for shooting climbers — 24-70mm. There is also a 70-200mm TV set, which she takes with her when going to the high mountains. And of course, in all her adventures, she is accompanied by a GoPro.
