By Pictolic https://www.pictolic.com/article/amazing-portraits-of-familiar-insects.htmlAnts-borers, weevils, wasps — all these guys can meet in the backyard, on the porch, the light on the wall in the room. It was there that they were shot by photographer Daniel Kariko, Professor of photography at East Carolina University.
What at first glance seems unremarkable speck of black, brown or grey, just a bug that we, or kicked out the window, or sometimes accidentally crush, impressed Kariko ever since as he first looked through a microscope. Here the colors and shapes of insects are filled with life. They become characters in unearthly, but the classic drama, where Rembrandt meets Star wars. By the way, the last two phenomena — is also a powerful source of inspiration for the photographer. Kariko combines photography and electronic microscope, to show the mysterious world of insects in all its glory.
