A girl with huge legs also dreams of a beautiful wedding

36-year—old American Katya Page suffers from lipedema - a chronic disorder that leads to the accumulation of a huge amount of adipose tissue in the lower part of the body. Recently, Miss Page began a series of liposuction operations to prevent further adipose tissue growth.

"Before the surgeries, my legs were from 127 to 137 centimeters in girth," Katya said.Some positive results of treatment are already noticeable, the swelling of the legs is gradually decreasing. But Dr. Lizzie Gottsegen, who treats Katya, notes that she still has a long way to recover. "Not many doctors know about this disease at all. If it hadn't been for surgery, bandages, and if Katya hadn't had the desire to start moving, she would have died soon," says Dr. Gottsegen.

"My biggest fear is to lose mobility, because if I can't move, the disease will start to progress and I may die," says Katya.

Miss Page has a huge experience of daily struggle with those who believe that the size of her legs is due to the fact that she eats too much junk food, and not with a life-threatening illness. But despite the negativity that Katya has to face every day, she still dreams of a beautiful wedding.

Katya's godmother Diana Mendheim believes that it is vital for a goddaughter to have a goal and strive for it: "Katya has been through a lot. She needs someone who can take care of her. She wants to be the center of attention."

"I'm smart, educated, I can cook, and, actually, I'm a great choice. I'm engaged, and we're planning to get married soon. To be honest, he loves me any way, but I would still like to look my best. Anyway, only a fool wouldn't want me! To be honest, I just want to live a long life next to someone. Who wants to get married and then die, leaving their lover?"— said Katya.
