In July 2017, 17-year-old American Vera Mobley was washing dishes at her workplace in a cafe when a thunderstorm began. When she had the last plate left, she dipped her hands into the water and at the same moment saw a bright flash of light and lost consciousness. The lightning hit the building directly and hit her through the water tap. There was a hole in Vera's shoes, a severe burn on her foot, but fortunately she survived.
