Regia Anglorum, a British group of reenactors who depict the life of Vikings, Saxons and Normans in the early Middle Ages, decided to imagine what modern people would take into the "afterlife" if they were sent on their last journey according to old traditions.

The coronavirus pandemic and quarantine severely restricted the activities of the Regia Anglorum, and, having moved to the remote, the group offered each other photo tasks and games to stay in touch and have fun.
Jenn Peters explained that burying things with the dead is one of the oldest traditions of mankind.

But the tradition of burying bodies with burial equipment ended with the gradual Christianization of Europe. According to Peters, this practice has stopped because Christian heaven does not allow baggage transportation.

But many of the comments under their post were from people admitting that they still would like to be buried in this way, for example, taking things with them to the grave that are associated with some sentimental memories.
