He is now 25 years old, and the album itself was released 25 years ago, on September 24, 1991. By this significant date, photographer John Chapple decided to recreate the cover, but still advised Spencer to wear shorts.

So, Spencer Elden, the baby from the cover of Nevermind, repeated his photo shoot in the pool, timed this action to the 25th anniversary of the album.

Now Spencer is 25, he is an artist. "Still, this anniversary means something to me, even though I don't remember anything. What is strange is that at the age of 4 months I spent 5 minutes shooting this photo, and it became truly iconic," he said.

Elden lives in Los Angeles. "It's cool, but it's strange that I don't even remember how I participated in the creation of something iconic," he says.
The second album of the rock band Nirvana "Nevermind" on Saturday, September 24, 2016, celebrated its 25th anniversary. This is probably the main album in the history of such a kind of rock music as grunge.

In 1991, photographer Kirk Weddle, who was personally acquainted with Spencer's father, Rick, asked him for permission to shoot his 4-month-old son for the cover of the Nirvana album. Rick agreed.

The shooting lasted literally 15 seconds, and Spencer's parents then received $ 200. A fishing hook with a dollar bill was added to the photo later.

This time, when photographer John Chapple decided to recreate a photo with the participation of an adult Spencer, he offered the guy the same $ 200.

The shooting took place in one of the swimming pools in Pasadena (California). This is not the first time that Spencer recreates a photo from the cover of Nevermind: in 2006, he already participated in a similar photo shoot dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the album.
