Especially for residents of megacities. Danish photographer Peter Funch has spent almost 10 years photographing New Yorkers rushing to work.

The series of photographs included in the book 42nd and Vanderbilt covers the period from 2007 to 2016. All photos were taken between 8:30 and 9:30 in the morning. During the editing process, Funch realized that some people were captured several times in his pictures — sometimes these photos were separated by years.
"You would hardly believe that you would find people who have been faithful to their daily rituals for years. This is such a feature of New York: people just do the same thing day after day."
