Frank De Mulder was born on August 22, 1963, in Ghent, Belgium. He discovered the world of photography at the age of 12 and from then on invested all his free time and money into his hobby. He bought cameras, textbooks, and albums so prolifically that by the time he graduated from high school, his room resembled a photography museum.

After graduating from the RITCS directing department in Brussels, De Mulder enrolled at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent, where he graduated with honors. After receiving his diploma, he began working in his field as a director of short films and commercials. Throughout this time, photography remained his passion. It wasn't until he was 29 that Frank realized he wanted to be the only one taking pictures.

Frank De Mulder is now one of the most award-winning erotic photographers in the world. He has won numerous exhibitions and competitions. He has published photo books: Senses (2007), Pure (2010), Glorious (2013), Heaven (2015), and Tribute (2017).
