The "army of cheerleaders" from North Korea arrived at the Winter Olympics

More than 200 North Korean cheerleaders have arrived in South Korea to support athletes at the Winter Olympics.

Cheerleaders in identical cherry-colored coats trimmed with black fur and wearing black fur hats crossed the demarcation line with South Korea on February 7 to participate in the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, which will be held on February 9.

The cheerleaders quickly attracted the attention of South Korean journalists. When asked how the girls will support the athletes, one of them answered with a smile: "Be patient a little. If I tell you everything now, you won't be interested later."

The arrival of the cheerleaders is not at all like the arrival of North Korean athletes, who, ignoring the questions of journalists, immediately went to the buses at the terminal.

The cheerleaders are part of a delegation consisting of 280 people headed by North Korean Sports Minister Kim Il-guk.

Special requirements were put forward for cheerleaders in North Korea. The women were personally selected by Kim Jong-un. The age, figure, and even the origin of the girls were taken into account. Cheerleaders should not be more than 30 years old, and they should be at least 160 centimeters tall. Their views, skills and loyalty to the ruling Workers' Party of Korea were thoroughly tested.
