Stylish London couples in the lens of Italian photographer Carlotta Cardana

When the Italian Carlotta Cardana moved to London a few years ago, she was interested in modern London stylists. Young people dressed in the style of the 50s and 60s walked the streets of the British capital. They dressed up and behaved like their grandparents, who belonged to the British subculture of mods. 

Carlotta was struck by the unusual style of the young people and wanted to get to know them better. This is how her photo project "Mod Couples" was born, which was later awarded an award at the Sony World Photography Awards.

She was interested in a couple of so-called mods, because the author of the photo project wanted to understand how these stylish boys and girls influence each other and how they complement each other. While working on the project, she met many interesting young people who were not even 25.

The heyday of the subculture of British mods occurred in the mid-60s of the last century. Young people who support this trend preferred the Italian style in "mod" clothes, formed the street fashion of that time and loved to ride scooters. In a way, it was a British analogue of Soviet stylists, but if you don't meet any more stylists on the territory of the former Union, then fashion is still "hanging on the Broadway" of British cities.
