Xavier Portela is a Belgian-Portuguese freelance photographer who lives in Brussels. He visited the capital of Thailand and created a series of photographs of BangkokGlow. Javier showed a lively, even at night, Thai capital, illuminated by neon lights.

The photo series contrasts with Javier's previous photo project in Tokyo. There he emphasized the grandeur of the urban landscape with its huge number of neon signs. In Bangkok, the photographer focused on the small alleys, the street vendors that cater to people out for night walks when the heat and humidity subside.

Portela, he said, often suffers from insomnia. He wanders the streets of night cities and considers it a good creative way to spend time.
