No one made sure that young Jose received an art education and he had to master all the intricacies of working with oil, watercolor and gouache on his own.

Although Hanto Garrucho is self-taught and does not have high-profile titles, his works are valued on a par with paintings by venerable masters. The artist never pursued honors and money, believing that an artist should create for the glory of inspiration and art.
