Samsung Smart Bike

As part of the Maestro Academy project, Samsung Electronics introduced the concept of a "smart" city bike. To be precise, the concept was developed by Italian students who took the matter very seriously. Despite the fact that outwardly the bike differs little from those that we see on the streets today, it is literally stuffed with Samsung technological solutions.

1. Samsung Smart Bike is not the first such project. Already at the end of this year, the Vanhawks Valor smart bike may appear, the funds for the release of which were collected on kikstarter.com with great success: more than $800 thousand instead of the required $100 thousand.

2. Vanhawks Valor has a carbon fiber frame, LEDs are integrated into the handlebars to signal turns, and the cyclist can receive information from special sensors that other road users are in blind spots.

3. Samsung Electronics and Maestro Academy have gone a lot further.

4. Of course, synchronization with a smartphone and tracking control does not look like a fresh idea. Yes, and budget solutions like bike computers successfully cope with the task of calculating the distance traveled, speed and (for those who really need it) calories spent on a bike ride.

5. On the other hand, a rear-view camera is a really necessary solution: many cyclists will agree that mirrors do not always help when driving in dense city traffic.

7. Samsung Smart Bike is equipped with four lasers that create a kind of safety zone around the bike, helping to keep cars at a reasonable distance from the bike. Whether motorists will do this is another question.

8. Samsung Smart Bike is equipped with a GPS module that transmits information to the owner's smartphone, and a battery will be installed on the bike to operate the electronics of the bike.

9. Unfortunately, the company has not yet announced a release date for the Samsung Smart Bike.
