Born in 1946, Bruce Gilden — known street photographer and member of the legendary Magnum Agency. Gilden fascinate ordinary people from the streets and the idea of visual spontaneity.

He is famous for his photos of new Yorkers and the constant use of the flash — which is unusual for a street photographer. Gilden seemed to warn the characters of the shooting about his presence.

He photographed the homeless, prostitutes, the Japanese Yakuza and Russian criminals.
