Ukrainian photographer Misha Pedan is one of the representatives of the Kharkiv School of Photography. Together with other photographers, he created a local semi-underground visual space, shot Soviet reality in an unusual manner at that time. Pedan was actively interested in the situation, people and atmosphere of the time passing into history.

The street pictures that Misha Pedan took in Moscow and several Ukrainian cities from 1986 to 1990 were included in his book entitled "The End of the Beautiful Era".

The collection was published in 2012 in Sweden, where the photographer moved in 1990.
Now he directs the Stockholm Photo School Kulturama, the largest center of aesthetic education in Northern Europe.

Misha Pedan shot with interest both to the soul and to the world around him, not afraid to attract attention to himself.

The characters often smiled at him, most likely, he smiled back at them.

These pictures are full of important and interesting elements, looking at which makes it possible to feel the image, to feel the passing of a wonderful era.
