Marketing level 80: the photographer spent 40 years in search of roadside establishments with unique design

Photographer John margolies (John Margolies) for 40 years photographing roadside shops in the United States. After the 50s, when the number of vehicles in the country increased sharply, along every road in America has a unique outlets, gas stations, eateries and other establishments. In Bakersfield, California, the road is an interesting Shoe shop. As can be seen, the institution of Desanden has catchy design. This is a photo of John Margolis did in 1950.

And this kiosk selling ice cream and milkshakes. These were in almost every city. The picture was taken in long beach, Florida, in 1979.

Here is the cashier of a gas station Zille, Washington. The picture was taken in 1989. The owners are constantly updating a local landmark.

"Village of teepees" is a Motel located on route 66 in Holbrook, Arizona.

That is one of the most original dairy stores. The school is located in Oklahoma city. Empty since 1998.

Motel with real cars is located in Sioux falls, South Dakota. When the railway company went bankrupt, a local businessman bought up the wagons and found them such an unusual application.
