Jim Marshall (February 3, 1936 — March 24, 2010) was an American photographer, known for his work with world rock stars, including The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and many other musicians of the 60s and 70s. He was the only photographer who was allowed to shoot behind the scenes during the last concert of The Beatles, and was also the main photographer of the Woodstock Festival. The author of numerous photographs that later acquired cult status, such as a photograph of Jimi Hendrix setting fire to his guitar or Johnny Cash depicting an indecent gesture.
