Kill me gently: a British man staged two attempts on his wife, and she still survived

37-year-old Emile Cilliers made two attempts to get rid of his wife. But none was successful. As a result of the second attempt, the spouse was hospitalized with injuries, and the man appeared in court.

40-year-old Victoria Cilliers suffered multiple injuries at Netheravon Airfield. After falling from a height of 1200 meters, she broke her ribs, collarbone, injured her leg and spine, but remained alive. Victoria's main parachute did not open, and the spare one did not fully open. The witnesses of the incident were sure that the woman would die. She was saved by the fact that she managed to slow down the speed of the fall.

Upon a detailed inspection of the equipment, it became clear that someone had deliberately damaged the parachutes. The investigation claims that Victoria's husband Emile Cilliers, who worked as a skydiving instructor in the Royal Army Physical Training Corps, tried to kill his wife in this way.

It turned out that this was not the only attempt at assassination. Earlier, Emil damaged the pipeline to cause a gas leak in the house. But Victoria smelled the gas in time and fixed the leak, and jokingly wrote to her husband on WhatsApp: "Do you want to kill me?"

The investigation managed to find out that Emil had a mistress, whom he met on Tinder. In correspondence, Emil promised his mistress to leave his wife. Also, the man was sure that his wife had a lover, and one child was not from him at all.

But Emil also pursued selfish goals. The man had debts totaling almost 30 thousand dollars, and in the event of his wife's death, he would receive an insurance payout of more than 150 thousand. Emil himself denies all the accusations against him.
