I touch myself: candid photo shoot of rock singers in support of breast cancer patients

Australian rock singer Christina "Chrissy" Ampflett, the lead singer of the Divinyls group, hoped that her hit I Touch Myself would become a kind of anthem of an information and educational campaign dedicated to the prevention of breast cancer. Three years after Christina's death from complications of cancer and multiple sclerosis, her idea is still alive. The I Touch Myself project, launched in 2014 by the creative agency J Walter Thompson and Charlie Drayton, Christina's widower, has now been supplemented with a photo shoot in which rock singers press their hands to their naked breasts.

"She sang it. She screamed about it. And we listened to her. Now Chrissy wants us to hear her words again. So that people learn more about such a disease as breast cancer. This is her last wish: touch yourself," the campaign website says.

Country music star Catherine Britt was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015.

The singer from Sydney Ngaiire also faced this disease: three years ago she got cancer of the adrenal glands.

Australian singer and human rights activist Abb May also took part in the photo shoot.

All the photos were taken by Australian photographer Tony Mott, who at one time captured rock icons such as Mick Jagger and the band AC/DC.

As part of the campaign, the I Touch Myself project collaborates with the Berlei lingerie brand.

All the money raised from the sale of bras will be transferred to Breast Cancer Network Australia, a non—profit organization that supports patients suffering from breast cancer.
