After the socialist government came to Yugoslavia after the Second World War, Christmas as a religious holiday was banned. So the New Year became the main holiday of the year.

Yugoslav leader Josip Broz Tito became famous in his time for partisan combat, which helped to oust the troops of Nazi Germany. Tito prudently tried to create the appearance that his people had more rights than the neighboring countries of the communist bloc. So he found the support of the people.

Nevertheless, Tito led a rather glamorous lifestyle. He threw such parties that Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor rushed headlong to Yugoslavia to hang out with the communist leader. There were legends about the parties that Tito threw on New Year's Eve, because the common people, of course, were not allowed there. Let's see how the Yugoslav dictator had fun.
