How love for a racketeer ruined Alexandra Petrova - "Miss Russia-1996"

A simple girl from Cheboksary, Sasha Petrova, did not plan to become famous and rich. Since childhood, she dreamed of becoming a doctor and saving human lives. But in 1996, the beauty, barely graduating from school, decided to take part in the beauty contest "Miss Russia". Quite unexpectedly, Alexandra won a victory, which became the beginning of her brilliant, but, alas, short new life.

At the Miss Russia – 1996 contest, 16-year-old Alexandra Petrova had forty competitors from different cities of the country, but she confidently snatched the victory from them. In one day, yesterday's schoolgirl from Cheboksary became a celebrity and a welcome guest at shows and presentations both in Russia and abroad.

A new, secular life swirled around Petrov – photo shoots, charity evenings, shooting in advertising, interviews with movie and pop stars, traveling. Alexandra traveled all over Russia, visited several CIS countries and Europe, and then went to Hollywood.

In 1999, the Russian woman took part in the Miss Universe contest. Despite the fact that the victory did not go to Alexandra, several foreign modeling agencies paid attention to her. Petrova had a great chance to stay in the United States and make a career as a supermodel there. But the girl made her choice – she rejected the offers that thousands of beauties around the world dreamed of and returned to her homeland.

The girl began to build a modeling career in Russia, where the demand for her was very high. Alexandra, as before, lived in her native Cheboksary, however, she had to be at home infrequently because of constant photo shoots and shows. The girl had no time for her personal life at all, although the world-famous beauty attracted the most promising suitors.

Petrova had no end of dizzying offers, and one of the most persistent and generous cavaliers was the Cheboksary entrepreneur Konstantin Chuvilin. Having the official status of a businessman, this person, in fact, was a criminal authority, whose official business served only as a screen for racketeering and extortion. Nevertheless, Konstantin was not a typical rude and stupid "brother" – he is remembered as a polite and intelligent person.

Having almost unlimited financial opportunities, the bandit Chuvilin beautifully courted the first beauty of Russia. He gave her huge bouquets, invited her to luxury restaurants and showered her with jewelry. For Konstantin, the task of getting Alexandra Petrova was, first of all, a matter of prestige, and he was able to achieve his goals.

A very young model, who did not understand people and was suddenly surrounded by the attention of a well-known person in Cheboksary, gradually began to give up. It seemed to Alexandra that a happy and secure life was waiting for her with Konstantin, who was 15 years older than her. She knew that there were bad rumors about this man in the city, but the bandit gold glittered so tempting, and it was so pleasant to step on rose petals with your feet!

In the end, Alexandra accepted the proposal of Konstantin Chuvilin and became his common-law wife. The couple started living together in a luxury apartment of the Cheboksary mafia in the city center and, they say, both seemed happy. It all ended abruptly-on September 16, 2000.

Chuvilin had a lot of enemies and several Russian organized criminal groups wanted to eliminate him. That day, an experienced killer was waiting for him at the entrance. When Alexandra, Konstantin and his friend, the director of the Cheboksary market, Radik Akhmetov, approached the apartment door, the killer opened fire with a machine gun. Chuvilin died immediately, and Petrova and Akhmetov were shot at the moment when they tried to escape. Experts later determined that Petrova was not the target of the killer – the bullet hit her with a ricochet.

Akhmetov died from a head wound before the ambulance arrived, and Alexandra Petrova died on the way to the hospital – a bullet hit her in the back of the head. "Miss Russia-1996" did not live up to its 20th anniversary for only two days. Two days later, on September 18, 2000, Chuvilin and Petrova were buried side by side at the cemetery in Cheboksary.

Alexandra Petrova was not the only beauty who was ruined by her connection with the criminal world. In 1997, one of her competitors in the Miss Russia – 1996 contest, Svetlana Kotova, died. The girl also fell at the hands of murderers who came to get even with her fiance Sasha Makedonsky – one of the most famous killers in Russia.
