By Pictolic https://www.pictolic.com/article/how-do-the-standards-of-female-beauty-differ-in-different-countries.htmlEsther Honig, a journalist from the USA, in an attempt to understand the mystery of female beauty, launched a project that demonstrates the differences in ideas about beauty among different peoples. Esther asked a photographer friend to take a picture of her, and then, using a freelance marketplace, sent the photo to random remote workers specializing in image editing. Photos of a young girl scattered around the world from the UK to Sri Lanka. Each freelancer received a technical task, similar to the request of many girls, addressed to friends who know how to work with graphic editors a little bit: "Make it look beautiful."
Minimal make-up, bare pimples and moles, slightly disheveled strands of hair - Photoshop masters from all over the world got carte blanche to make adjustments according to their ideas of beauty. We present the results of this work.

The work of Photoshop masters fascinated the journalist so much that instead of studying the skills and abilities of potential employees, she began to study beauty standards, which have their own characteristics in every part of the world.
"Here's what I've learned over the life of the project: Photoshop will allow any of us to become a beauty, but when we compare these standards on a global scale, we understand that the concept of beauty is rather illusory."
