Gold and beluga caviar: the Dutch have prepared the most expensive burger in the world

The Dutch restaurant de Daltons, specializing in burgers, presented an unusual dish in its menu – a burger worth 5,000 euros (almost 435,000 rubles). The new dish was named Golden Boy ("Golden Boy"). The name was chosen not only because of the cost, the dish really has real gold-it is covered with burger buns, which emphasizes the luxury of the ingredients and makes a bright visual impression.

Among the ingredients of the burger are smoked duck egg mayonnaise, white truffle, cucumber and tiger tomato marinated in matcha tea, a special variety of wagyu beef Wagyu Burger A5 (where A5 means the best quality grade), cheddar cheese, barbecue sauce with Macallan whiskey and exotic Kopi Luwak coffee, king crab meat, beluga caviar, jamon Joselito Bellota Iberico and many other delicious products, each of which is far away by itself not cheap. And along with the burger, the restaurant guest receives a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne.

Such an unusual dish was prepared in the hope of winning the title of the most expensive burger in the world. According to the owner of the restaurant, Robbert Jan de Vin, it was his childhood dream to break the world record. And during the pandemic, when the flow of restaurant visitors began to dry up, this idea became an excellent marketing step that attracted the attention of connoisseurs of haute cuisine and luxury lifestyle from all over the world to the institution.

Golden Boy can be freely purchased at the restaurant, but you need to make a reservation at least two weeks in advance. In addition, the restaurant asks for a deposit of 750 euros (more than 65 thousand rubles) for one burger planned to be eaten. However, it is emphasized that the restaurant does not earn money on such an expensive dish. 5,000 euros for the burger, which was sold at the record-setting ceremony, were donated to the National Food Bank of the country, so the government will be able to provide hundreds of people in need with basic food sets.
