Glamorous photo shoot of the first trans model in Pakistan

Kami Sid is one of the most high—profile LGBT activists and the first transsexual model in Pakistan. Kami has given speeches at several special events, given interviews many times and even starred in a BBC documentary "How Gay Is Pakistan?" ("How homosexual is Pakistan?").

Waqar Khan, a stylist from Karachi, Pakistan, Haseeb Siddiqui, a photographer, and Nigat Misbah, a makeup artist, have teamed up to create a unique photo shoot with Kami in the lead role. With the help of this work, they call for an end to transophobia in Pakistan and to destroy outdated stereotypes around transsexuals.

A huge number of cases of violence against members of the LGBT community in Pakistan have been reported this year. In particular, in May, a 23-year-old transsexual woman, Alisha, was shot. After her injuries, she was humiliated in the hospital, denied medical care, which is why she died.

In the last few months, videos of sexual assaults on transgender Pakistanis have appeared on the Internet. Many transgender women have told about rapes on the Internet. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province alone, more than 45 transgender Pakistanis have been killed since 2015.

Kami Sid wants to expand the boundaries set for transsexuals in Pakistani society with her pictures.
