Friendship between meerkats and photographer

Wild animals may not be so wild! Meet Will Burrard-Lucas, a photographer and friend of meerkats. And what this friendship is expressed in is in our material.

This year Will visited Botswana to take a series of pictures of these charming creatures.

There he made friends with them.

The meerkats guessed that Will and his film crew did not pose a threat, so they allowed them to get close. Although the huge lens looks a little intimidating.

The meerkats even started using Will as a viewing platform. It is very convenient to inspect the property.

A friend will always cover a friend from behind — after all, not only friends live in Africa!

For reference: meerkats are members of the mongoose family and live in large groups in the desert areas of southern Africa.

They sleep in burrows and come to the surface during the day in search of food.

The diet of meerkats consists mainly of scorpions, beetles, lizards and small mammals.
