Faith and fashion: stylish outfits of a 91-year-old grandmother from Belarus

Vera Zenko from Belarus is 91 years old, and now she is almost the most famous fashionista in the country. At the suggestion of photographer Tatiana Tkacheva, who took a series of pictures of her grandmother in author's outfits, the stylish old lady was talked about all over the world. A series of photographs by Tkacheva is called "Seasons of Faith", because the grandmother herself confessed once, they say, I live out my seasons, every spring may be the last.

According to the story of the author of "Seasons of Faith", the old woman lived all her life in the Belarusian city of Volozhin. At the first meeting of Tkacheva and Zenko, the fashionista was wearing "huge sunglasses, a plaid dress, crimson socks and shoes. It was love at first sight."

Among the outfits of Vera's grandmother there are a lot of dresses of her daughter — one graduation, the second — sewn for certification to the category of seamstress, and the third is completely wedding.

"A great thing came out. Simple, touching and chic," the author of the LJ post, photographer Peter Lovygin, writes about the work of a colleague.

"Vera once told me that she lives the last seasons, when every spring can be the last. Likes to dress up. Her whole life is in the closet: each dress has its own story, its own memory," Tatiana Tkacheva writes about meeting with a fashionable grandmother.

Vera Zenko confessed to Tkacheva that she does not have a favorite dress and she intends to start distributing her wardrobe — she is afraid that after her death the dresses will end up in the trash. And if you give it to dear people, they may save it.

Vera Zenko has several winter outfits — a plush coat, bought once "by the thieves" in the Volozhinsky district store, and a drape coat - they had to invest money in it immediately after the collapse of the Union — "so that they would not disappear." There is also a strict "bow" in the wardrobe — for responsible business meetings.
