British photographer Kirsty Mitchell started her project in the summer of 2009 and worked on it for more than two years, sometimes taking more than a month of hard work on just one photo.

1. “I do everything from background selection to material preparation, which means I often have to hand-dye clothing fabrics to match the exact color hues of the future photo.”
2. Kirsty claims that art is her life and has no idea what would have happened if she had not found her place in this land of beauty, grace and bright colors. She has a rare talent not only to mentally imagine the scene, but also to bring her ideas to life.
3. “The project began 7 months after my mother died and was a turning point in my approach to photography. It was the first time I tried to combine all my knowledge in one form. Blending together backgrounds and costume design, my love of art history and cinema, and my passion for the natural beauty of England's landscapes. In short, a mixture of all my daily interests, focused on very personal memories, this is a tribute to the memory of my mother, and the stories that she read to me as a child.
