Donkey Derrick, living in a British nature reserve, will soon become the largest in the world
A British nature reserve will soon be the home of the world's largest donkey, as Derrick the donkey is just one inch away from the record... and he's still growing!

Derrick is a huge young animal 5 feet 7 inches (170.18 cm) tall and has not finished growing yet.
The five-year-old donkey belongs to the American Mammoth Jackstock breed, which is the largest donkey species in the world.
To claim the title of the largest donkey in the world, Derrick must grow by an inch (2.54 cm), and beat the current record holder Romulus, who lives in Texas and measures 5 feet 8 inches (172.72 cm).

Derrick lives in the Radcliffe Donkey Reserve in Lincolnshire, which, like many other reserves, is maintained by donations for animals.
Despite his size, Derrick is a gentle giant, says Tracy.
