"Dancing with Costica" is a nostalgic and beautiful retro project by Jane Long

Australian Jane Long decided to brush up on her retouching skills when she stumbled across an archive of old works by Romanian Costica Axinte online. This is how a series of collages called "Dancing with Costica" appeared. Working simply for the soul, Jane was able to breathe a fairy tale into old photos and give them a new story, giving worn pictures a second life filled with magic.

1. Costica Axinte was a Romanian war photographer who, after being retired, set up a studio in the Romanian town of Slobozia. About 5,000 of his photographic plates were acquired by the museum in Lolamita. In mid-2013, a museum employee digitized all of Aksinte's works and posted them for public use.

2. Jay Long is a professional graphic designer and photo editor. However, she created a series of works “Dancing with Costică” for the soul. For example, the photo of Costica on the left inspired Jane to create her own version called Innocence.
