Dakar 2014. Race final and podium

Blogger Sergei Dolya writes: So Dakar 2014 is over... We have been a little behind the schedule for publishing posts in recent days - the heat of events was too strong. Now I am already at home and there is an opportunity to calmly talk about the last days in Chile. But first I want to show photos from the brightest event of the rally - the Dakar podium.

Roman Briskindov and his "Lucky Cat" finished the rally literally on their last legs. The car couldn't get on the podium on its own, it was pulled on a cable by the guys from Georeid - right at the finish of the last special stage, Roman's clutch ran out. Roman's team took 49th place, which is a good result, considering that 152 cars started, and less than half reached the finish line. Sergey Karyakin, a young quad rider from Yekaterinburg, whom I talked about in a previous post, took 7th place! An excellent result for a young guy who competed in the Dakar for the first time. And of course, Kamaz-Master showed a traditionally excellent result - 4 places in the top five!
