When you look at the faces of the fighters of that war, you involuntarily think how their fate would have turned out under different circumstances and how they would have fit into the modern world.
These colorized pictures of soldiers of the First World War look like they were taken quite recently. Nevertheless, they clearly show what trials fell to the lot of the fighters, in whose eyes there is despair and hopelessness.
