Both photographers explore the concept of the suburb. They work in completely different styles, but both are well known for their cinematic color palettes, lighting, and distinctive compositions.

Miles Aldridge
Hido's work is characterized by shady views of deserted streets, while Aldridge presents the viewer with images in brightly lit, flashy interiors. It focuses on the imagined lives of the women who live in these homes.

Inspired by Hollywood cinema and directors such as Alfred Hitchcock and David Lynch, photographers Miles Aldridge and Todd Hido seek to destroy the traditional American provincial fantasy.
