Behind the scenes of the Miss Age America beauty pageant

Welcome to the sparkling world of the Miss Age America pageant. This is a competition for women aged 60 to 90 who are still young at heart. Like good wine or cheese, such events only get better over time. And this contest is no exception. Photographer Brian Finke captured what's going on behind the scenes.

"I have been photographing contestants at cheerleading and bodybuilding competitions for many years. I have always been interested in emotional moments behind the scenes, where the impatience and vulnerability of the participants are manifested, and this says a lot about the personality of these people," says the photographer.

"The contestants love the attention, they are there to perform and to be watched, so the filming only added to the atmosphere," he says.

"I always like to appear on the spot without preliminary ideas and shoot what I see. I was very impressed with how the ladies behaved on stage, and I wanted them to turn out great."
