Artist Zoya Cherkasskaya humorously draws memories from her Soviet childhood

Zoya Cherkassky (Zoya Cherkassky-Nnadi) was born and raised in Kiev, and at the age of 15 moved to Israel, where she became a recognized artist. For more than ten years, her works have been exhibited in Israeli art galleries, critics praise her, the public adores her. Although her paintings are simple in execution, but it is this simplicity and spiritual warmth that touches the strings of everyone.

After emigrating, Zoya began to sketch her childhood memories of the dying Soviet Union, the last moments before the collapse. Her works show scenes from everyday life, memorable details that will surely find a response in the soul of a whole generation of people who grew up in the same period.

In addition to Soviet memories, Zoya sketched scenes from the life of Russian immigrants in Israel. She called this series of paintings "Aliya of the 90s".
