In the south-west of China, in the city of Dujiangyan, there is an unusual bookstore. His design project was developed by the Shanghai architectural bureau X + Living. The store occupies a fairly large area — 973 sq. m.

The design reflects the corporate style of the bureau: mirrored ceilings that expand the space and create a sense of infinity. The designers tried to repeat the landscapes of the city of Dujiangyan. For example, a black reflective tile on the floor simulates a lake, and different levels of shelves-a mountain environment. The authors of the project tried to combine the wonderful world of literature and the Chinese cultural heritage.

The books in the store are arranged on C-shaped shelves, which are made of walnut wood. The shelves are located inside the store so that visitors can find unity and feel free when choosing books. The space is very similar to a huge maze.

Inside there are tables and wooden poufs, visitors can choose a book they like and read it inside the store. A semicircular staircase leads from the first floor to the second. At the top there is a round platform with tables, where you can also retire with a book or just relax.

There is also a children's area in the store, which is decorated with images of pandas. They seem to climb bookshelves like trees. On the floor there are pillows on which you can sit down.
