3. "I remember when my grandfather took me to see the kingfisher nest, and I remember being shocked by how magnificent the birds were. So when I started doing photography, I went back to the same place to shoot kingfishers," says Alan.

4. In one outing, the photographer took up to 600 pictures, but none of them satisfied him.
