His institution Saartj, which has already become a network, is named after Saarti Baartman, a South African woman from the Koi-Koin tribe (Hottentots), who was brought to Europe at the beginning of the XIX century and exhibited in panopticums and "cirques of freaks".

After Saarti's death, her body was dissected, dismembered, studied and demonstrated during lectures on anthropology as "proof" of how close Negroes are to monkeys. The skeleton, brain and other fragments were distilled and exhibited at the Paris Museum of Man until 1974. Currently, the remains of the "Hottentot Venus" Saarti Baartman have been returned to their homeland in South Africa.
