This project, created in 1992, elevated him to the pantheon of the celestials of fashion photography. That's where Stephen is still staying.
For many years he has been responsible for the covers of Vogue Italia magazine. And the September issue for 2007 was marked by one of the most conceptual and ambiguous photo sessions of the master - Make Love, Not War ("Make love, not war").
In the midst of the Iraq war, Maisel created a project that, based on the name, calls for an end to the conflict, and on the other hand, on the contrary, romanticizes it. Young cute guys have fun in the company of first-rate beauties. It doesn't really sound like anti-war propaganda, really. So it seemed to the critics. They accused the photographer of glamorizing the Iraq campaign. However, Maisel doesn't care about anything. The pictures are amazing.
